United States’ Ambassador John Bass is
opening today center for civic engagement in Marneuli.
The U.S. government invested 5 million dollars in the ten
centers for civic engagement opening across the country, in different cities of
Georgia.
The project
of civic engagement centers, financed by United States Agency for International
Development (USAID) ensures opening 10 centers throughout Georgia and the
aim of this project is to promote and hold democratic dialogue.
Centers
for civic engagement provides representatives of civil society, local and
regional governments, NGOs, the media and political parties with a space for
holding discussions on important issues.
With
the assistance of center’s staff, the discussions may be held on any issue,
which is the subject of public interest. The organizations should meet the
special rules, (which are public,) for using the centers for their activities.
