The first team games
“Gorgasliani” were held in the Georgian Armed Forces. In the tournament the
military servicemen – Privates, Corporals and Sergeants of the Georgian Armed
Forces were involved in 12 teams. The competition was held in four kind of sport:
1) Combat all-round events, 2) Khridoli – triathlon, 3) Relay-running and 4)
Chess. “Gorgasliani” started on April 2 and has been closed today on April 30.
The winner in the team
competitions became Rapid Response Unit “Algeti”. The Unit gained the most
first place in the above mentioned kinds of sports. First Deputy Commander of
Land Forces of GAF Major Nikoloz Agladze awarded the Head of the Rapid Response
Unit with the main prize “Gorgasliani”, including Gorgasali’s helmet, sward and
shield.
According to the varieties,
the contest winner teams were granted the Transitional Cups names after the
heroes fallen for Georgia’s
territorial integrity or in the international peacekeeping missions.
The tournament “Gorgasliani”
will take place in various kinds of sports within the Georgian Armed Forces
regularly in the future.
