The Ministry of Corrections and Legal Assistance of Georgia spreads a statement regarding the voting process of the inmates on the elections. According to the Constitution of Georgia, all citizens, pre-trial/convicted inmates who have committed less grave crime are recognized legally capable to participate in parliamentary elections on October 1, 2012. In order to be eligible to vote, we would like to call on inmates’ family members to submit the following documentations of identification at the establishment where an inmate is placed no later than September 28, 2012: ID card of Georgia Citizenship or Georgian Passport. In addition, IDPs from occupied regions of Georgia must present IDP Card (along with Georgian ID card). internet.ge
