Today, Batumi OSCE parliamentary Assembly Economic Conference – “Promotion of Economic cooperation and stability in OSCE region” - will be opened by President Mikheil Saakashvili and the Assembly President Petros Efthymiou.

Parliament pres-service informed “Internet.ge” about it.

According to their information, Parliament Speaker David Bakradze will also deliver a speech on the forum.

Conference speakers include: head of EU delegation in Georgia Philip Dimitrov, President of National Bank Giorgi Kadagidze and the Senior Fellow at the Cato Institute Andrei Illarionov.

On the topic – “Peace and creation of confidence though cooperation in economic and environmental field” – participants will be addressed by the First Deputy Foreign Minister Sergi Kapanadze, OSCE Co-ordinator of Economic and Environmental Activities Goran Svilanovic and  OSCE PA Special Representative on Migration Kathleen Ferrier.

In addition, on the topic “strengthening energy security and efficiency” President of OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, João Soares, Georgian Minister of Energy and Natural Recourses Alexandre Khetaguri, head-Professor of Economics Faculty in Istanbul University, Murat Karagoz and the state Minister in European and Euro-Atlantic structures integration affairs Giorgi Baramidze.           

Moreover, Georgian Economy and Sustainable Development Minister Vera Kobalia and American Chamber of Commerce President in Georgia David Lee will talk about growing small- and medium-sized enterprises.  

The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Economic Conference will complete its work on May 14.
