Georgian Minister of Defence Dimitri
Shashkini met with the Deputy Director of Plans, Policy and Strategy, United
States European Command Rear Admiral Mark Montgomery today.
Implementation of the Agreement reached
between the Georgian and United States presidents was a main topic of
discussion at the meeting. The U.S. is assisting Georgia with enhancing its
defence capabilities.
Prior to assuming the post of
Deputy Director of Plans, Policy and Strategy of the United States European
Command, Rear Admiral Mark Montgomery served as the Head of Strategy Branch in
the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations. His branch was the principal
source for the development and implementation of Navy strategic and operational
planning documents.
