The EU Ambassador in Georgia, Philip Dimitrov spreads a special statement regarding the visit of Russian Federation Prime-Minister Dmitry Medvedev to Tskhinvali.  
As it is said in the statement, the EU considers that this step is not consistent with the principles of the territorial integrity and the state sovereignty.  
According to Dimitrov’s statement, the Mission reiterates the EU's strong support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity within the internationally recognized borders. 
The EU Mission also emphasizes that it attaches great importance to the peaceful resolution of conflicts in the region and urges all the parties concerned to make efforts in this direction.
