“Every
man is free in his decisions” – this is how the new head of the National
Examinations Center responded to the decision of the Center’s staff to leave
their jobs after dismissal of Maia Miminoshvili.
As
Khatia Dekanoidze said after the end of the meeting with the staff, those who
do not want to work with her will not be forced.
“Those
who do not want to continue working with us will just leave. I do not see a
particular problem here”, - Dekanoidze said.
As for
upcoming exams scheduled in the summer, Dekanoidze promises that the exams will
pass without any gaps.
“From the
state, I will be the guarantee and the number first defender for holding the
exams without gaps”, - the head of the National examinations center said.
We will
recall you that the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri
Shashkin made decision to dismiss Miminoshvili on May 28.
The
Ministry explained that in the process of implementation of the reforms the
principal inconsistency between the policy of the Ministry of Education and
Science and the personal position of Maia Miminoshvil was created.
As for
Dekanoidze, the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia appointed her on
this new position today.
Dekanoidze
worked on the position of rector of the Internal Affairs Ministry’s Police
Academy for years.
