Reconstruction
works of the Bagrati temple is temporarily suspended. The statement about it
was made by the General Director of cultural heritage Agency Nika Vacheishvili
at Bagrati Church.
According
to him, the agency is ready to have additional consultations regarding the
rehabilitation project.
He
said, “UNESCO” will discuss the mentioned issue in a week.
“With a
request of the patriarchy, we have already stopped works. The temple is being
under high-quality rehabilitation works. We will have additional consultations
regarding all the agreed proposals, after what I hope Bagrati Church
reconstruction will be restored”, - Vacheishvili noted.

recall you that during sermon yesterday, Georgian
Catholics- Patriarch, the Archbishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi, the Metropolitan of
Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II has requested
termination of rehabilitation works of Bagrati Church.
