Inmates of the Penitentiary Establishment №15 have been awarded with certifications
Inmates have been awarded
with certifications certifying successful completion of professional
educational courses at the Penitentiary Establishment №15.
The project aims to make professional education accessible at all penitentiary
establishments, reengage inmates in educational processes, deepen their
knowledge and skills as well as to provide them with employment opportunities.
The Ministry believes, the
project supports re-socialization of inmates and prevention of reoccurrence of
crime.
Representatives of the Ministry of Corrections and Legal Assistance of Georgia,
the Technical University and project managers attended
award ceremony.
The above mentioned project at the Penitentiary Establishment №15 was
implemented with the support of the US State Department.
Educational houses are operational at the Penitentiary Establishments №5, №14,
№15, and №16.
Educational houses will soon be operational at other correctional
establishments as well.
This year more than 300 inmates were awarded with certificates of professional
education.
