Inflation rate in Georgia amounted to 0.1 percent

In August 2012 the monthly inflation rate in Georgia, compared to the previous month, amounted to 0.1 percent. 

According to the same rates, the overall index reflects a significant change in the price level for the following groups of products: food and non-alcoholic beverages prices decreased by 0.2 percent and transport prices in the given period increased by 1.2 percent. 

As for the annual inflation rate, compared to the previous year, in August 2012 the annual inflation rate in Georgia equaled -0.4 percent. The most significant contributions to the annual CPI rate were made by changes in the price level of food, non-alcoholic beverages, hotels, cafes and restaurants.
