The Jury Court will discuss case of Zura Tarkashvili's murder

Today, on 10:00 am, in the Tbilisi City Court a jury trial will be held regarding the case of premeditated murder in aggravating circumstances.


The jury will discuss the blame of David Rusishvili in murder case of 23-years-old Zura Tarknishvili on Rustaveli Avenue on September 17 and will announce appropriate verdict.  


We will recall you that, according to the investigation, 53-years-old Iveri Gogberashvili, sentenced for drug crime, contacted 19-years-old Giorgi Rusishvili - probationer convicted for the same crime and 23-years-old Irakli Agladze – convicted for robbery and with a group carried out murder of Zura Tarkashvili on the main street of Tbilisi, where many people were passing by. 

Fire was opened by Iveri Gogberashvili, Irakli Agladze and David Rusishvili simultaneously. Zura Tarkashvili had 11 wounds inflicted.

Investigation concluded that murder was planned in advance and for that reason David Rusishvili and Iveri Gogberashvili watching Zurab Tarkashvili from the morning.

According to the materials of investigation, David Rusishvili informed Iveri Gogberashvili by telephone that Zura Tarkashvili came out from a shop located near his house, on Lagidze Street. After that the armed murderers came to Rustaveli Avenue and rush after him from different directions.

According to Rusishvili’s testimony, he shot the first bullet to Tarkashvili, Zura Tarkashvili fell down, after what Irakli Agladze approached him and made several shots. Iveri Gogberashvili carried out two control shots and after this, the murderers escaped from the scene.

Internal Affairs Minister arrested Rusishvili on the third day from the incident. He admitted the crime and described in details, how the murder was planned and carried out by the criminal group, however, later, he changed his testimony and that is why the jury trail will be held today.
