Internal Affairs Ministry: persons involved in Mereti incident are already identified

Internal Affairs Ministry studies incident occurred during the visit of Bidzina Ivanishvili in the village Mereti. As the head of the Internal Affairs Ministry press-service, Zurab Gvenetadze said to “”, persons involved in the mentioned fact have been already identified by the police.  

“The measures provided by law will be carried out towards these people”, - Gvenetadze said.

Visit of the leader of the coalition “Georgian dream” to the village Mereti was followed by aggression of the villagers. The locals called Ivanishvili and Irakli Alasani “Russian Agents”.  

Due to the physical confrontation the visit and the meeting of the leaders canceled.  

According to the information of the press-office, journalists were injured too and several vehicles were damaged.
